Introducing Conduit G2: The world’s most powerful sequencer

Yesterday, we introduced our new high-powered sequencer offering: Conduit G2. At up to 100 Mgas/s, G2 is the most powerful sequencer in operation, and gives rollups 10x better performance than off-the-shelf sequencers.

G2 enables rollups to hit previously unreachable levels of scale and sophistication, making new use cases possible. If you want to build ambitiously onchain with G2, contact us here.

You can learn more about G2 by checking out our announcement blog and our launch thread on Twitter, or by listening to a recording of our Twitter space with early customers at Proof of Play and Gravity Chain, as well as key partners like Paradigm, Haun Ventures, Optimism, Arbitrum, Celestia, and EigenDA.

The Surge: Vitalik’s ideas on next steps for the rollup-centric roadmap

Yesterday, Vitalik published a new blog outlining ideas for the next phase of Ethereum scaling, which he dubs The Surge. The goal of The Surge is to hit a combined 100,000 TPS across L1 and all L2s, while maintaining decentralization and fostering L2 interoperability. Vitalik explores technical solutions for improved DA, enhanced trustlessness in rollup proof systems, intuitive cross-L2 interactions, and more. The core vision of the rollup-centric roadmap remains in effect — rollups will handle the bulk of user activity, while Ethereum mainnet will provide security and decentralization.

a16z drops State of Crypto report, featuring data from rollup.wtf

a16z released its annual State of Crypto report this week. It’s a must-read, with data-driven research on everything from overall onchain activity (spoiler alert: it’s at an all-time high!) to crypto’s growing role in the 2024 U.S. election. We were thrilled to see the report cite data from rollup.wtf to make the point that gaming rollups like Proof of Play are pushing onchain scaling to new limits. It’s a trend we’ve seen first-hand, and it’s opening up a lane for other data-intensive use cases as well.

More from around the ecosystem:

  • Celestia announced its newest upgrade: Shwap. Shwap aims to make DA sampling 12x faster and reduce storage requirements by 16.5x. Shwap is on testnet now and expected to hit Mainnet Beta in November.
  • Optimism introduced Superism, a new tool that allows developers to simulate the cross-chain interoperability of the Superchain.
  • Orderly Network is bringing its omnichain order book to Solana with Orderly Unity. Solana traders will soon be able to trade perps on Solana DEXs and tap into liquidity on the EVM chains Orderly supports now.
